My focus lies in exploring cities at the intersection of technology, remote sensing, and geospatial sciences. I blend research, cartography, remote sensing, and geocommunication to transform Earth’s data into meaningful maps and insights, with a focus on urban landscapes.

I contribute to urban discourse through writing, mapping, and visual storytelling.

My Passion for Placemaking

I believe in the power of placemaking to create vibrant, inclusive, and child-friendly cities. My journey began with the Urban 95 Academy, and today, I am actively working to engage communities, especially children, in reclaiming public spaces. Through workshops, storytelling, and hands-on design, I strive to make cities more livable, playful, and people-centered!

My Approach to Urban Research

My work is driven by a deep curiosity about how cities shape human experiences., from Neuro-urbanism, exploring the impact of city living on mental well-being, to leveraging geospatial technologies for data-driven urban solutions. I believe in a multidisciplinary approach, combining urban planning, technology, and community engagement to reimagine better public spaces.

Community Outreach

I am deeply committed to community engagement and participatory planning, ensuring that urban development is inclusive and people-centered. Through workshops, public discussions, and hands-on placemaking initiatives, I actively involve communities. As a vocal advocate for urban issues, I use my social media platforms to share insights and drive conversations on cities, transportation, public spaces, urban heritage, culture, and art. I contributed to the global conscious cities movement and participated in the Commonwealth Sustainable Cities Initiative, working towards more sustainable and livable cities.

Creative Works

My love for cities extends beyond planning—I express it through art and visual storytelling. I create handmade cityscapes, customized maps, and urban-themed artwork, blending creativity with urban narratives. I also started my own handmade art business, crafting unique, customized pieces. Through visual storytelling on social media, I share the essence of cities, urban heritage, and public transport, using art as a medium to highlight the beauty and challenges of urban life.

Local & International Representations

From local projects to global collaborations, I work to bridge communities and ideas. Whether contributing to grassroots initiatives or engaging with networks like Urban 95, Commonwealth Planners or The King’s Foundation, I strive to bring meaningful change at every scale. By amplifying local voices and integrating global insights, I aim to create inclusive and thoughtful spaces. 🌱🌎

Featured by the King’s Foundation UK

I had the honor of getting involved with the King’s Foundation UK on the Commonwealth Sustainable Cities Initiative and contributing to the Rapid Planning Toolkit for Urban Expansion. My youth feedback on the course was featured on Instagram and Facebook on the King’s Foundation, and I also spoke at COP26 during the toolkit launch. From a small town in Pakistan to engaging with a prestigious organization, this experience remains one of my most cherished moments!

Through homemade maps, readers shared perspectives and stories from a world transformed by the coronavirus pandemic.

65 Maps, 65 different stories! I am one of the proud contributors of the “Quarantine Atlas – Mapping Global Life under Covid-19” by Bloomberg CityLab. A project that maps our lockdown experiences from around the world. My handmade neighborhood map from Sialkot, Pakistan is published in this book being part of an amazing compilation of map story-telling from across the world -depicting the life under Covid-19! 🤩 My map was also featured earlier in a BBC Travel docummentary back in 2020! Grateful to be part of this journey. 🗺️ 🌍
